Club Championship

Two-day stroke play event, 100% of course handicap. Coordinators will work with Handicap and Tournament committees to make up the flights.

Entry Requirements

• Must be a Fairway Lady who has participated in at least five (5) rounds of league play on Saturday and Sunday.

• Must have submitted seven (7) scorecards showing 18 holes played during the current season at any regulation golf course.

• Must commit to playing on both Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27.

Exemptions will be given on a case-by-case basis. Players seeking exemptions should contact the Tournament Chairperson who will present the case to the Tournament Committee.

Format

• The Tournament and Handicap Committees will flight participants and arrange groups.

• The tournament will consist of two rounds of stroke play played over a two-day period.

• On the first day, groups will be arranged by handicap. On the second day, groups will be arranged by flight and first day scores. Championship Flight will tee off first on Saturday and last on Sunday.

• Players must “hole out” on every hole. Failure to hole out will result in disqualification.

• Fellow competitors will keep each other’s scores. Scorecard, signed by the player and attested by the player’s scorekeeper, must be turned in immediately after play.

• The two-day total score will determine winners. Low gross winner of the Championship Flight will be the Club Champion; low gross and low net will be awarded in each flight.

• The USGA suggested method of breaking ties will be used. Best second day score. If still tied, best score on last nine holes; then best score on last six holes; then best score on last three holes. When determining low gross winner, gross scores will be used. When determining net winners, proportional handicaps will be applied.

• Sign-up deadline for the Club Championship Tournament is Saturday, July 19

• Flights will be established using handicaps from the July 23rd revision.

Note: Participants must be available and commit to playing on both days of the tournament.

There is no rain date. In the event that inclement weather results in a golf course closure or the unavailability of carts, the Tournament Committee may cancel the event or revert to a one-day championship. In all cases, the Tournament Committee, in consultation with the Executive Board, reserves the right to modify the above rules should it be deemed necessary.
