Fairway Ladies Trivia Night is back! On Wednesday, Sept 24, Joannie Connors, Denise Delorey, Denise Dodds, Suzanne Maselli, Fay Moy, and Liz Wilson gathered at the Boston Ale House for an exciting game of trivia! You would be amazed at what your fellow golfers know! Let Denise Dodds know if you want to be notified of future events.

Two beautiful days of golf ended in a perfect stalemate!
Day 1: USA 8 1/2 - Europe 9 1/2
Day 2: USA 9 1/2 - Europe 8 1/2
Final: USA 18 - Europe 18
Captains Laura Hasenfus (Europe) and Julie Clifford (USA) led their squads with enthusiasm and set the tone for a spirited competition. From booming drives to clutch putts and plenty of laughs in between, this year’s Ryder Cup was everything we love about golf- spirited, friendly, and full of Franklin Park magic.
Huge thanks to Susan Doll and Jan Murphy for making it all run smoothly. You set the stage for an unforgettable weekend.

Fairway Ladies 9-Holers Kick Off First Ryder Cup Scramble
The Fairway Ladies Afternoon crew teed off their inaugural 9-hole Ryder Cup Scramble on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, with eight players bringing their A-game and plenty of laughs. Team Europe- Suzan, Suzanne, Angela, and Connie- captured the trophy with a decisive win and some stellar play. Congratulations to the champions and cheers to everyone who made the first of many Ryder Cup Sundays such a fun success. Special shout out to Pat G. for all of her work organizing the 9-hole events!

Fall Cup Match #2
September 11, 2025
The second match of the Fall Cup was held at the beautiful Haverhill Country Club, where Ould Newbury Golf Club came out on top with a strong showing, winning 32.5 to 22.5. With one match left in the series, we’re looking forward to rallying and making up ground in the final showdown on September 18th vs Haverhill CC. Let’s finish strong!
Fairway Ladies in the Mass Senior Amateur Championship
September 1-2, 2025
Several members of the Fairway Ladies participated in the 2025 Massachusetts Women's Senior Amateur Championship held at The Cape Club in Falmouth on September 1-2. A special congratulations goes to Lynn Wahlquist, who delivered a standout performance and won the Tournament Division – Net trophy.
We also want to give a big shoutout to Krista Fulton, Laura Hasenfus, Debra Watson, and Kelley Curley—they bravely put themselves out there and gave it their all in the tournament.
Congratulations to all the women who participated— your dedication and spirit inspire us all!
Afternoon 9 Holer Update
We’re excited for our upcoming 9-hole Ryder Cup on September 21st! Tee time sign-ups open on September 14th, so stay tuned for more details.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the August 10th Mentoring Round—it was a fantastic success! The event focused on course management, golf etiquette, and mentoring, and we’re grateful to our mentors, Debra Watson and Laura Hasenfus, for their guidance and support.
One participant shared, “I loved the golf today. I feel like I learned more in today’s 9 holes than years of trial and error.”
We look forward to seeing you all on the course in September!

Fall Cup Match #1
Thursday, September 4th
Our first Fall Cup match was at Far Corners Golf Course in Boxford MA— an interesting 27 hole public course about 50 miles north of Boston. The hilly layout and tricky greens made for an exciting challenge, and many of us are eager to return and play it again.
The Fairway Ladies earned 27.5 points against Haverhill’s 26.5 points, edging out a close win. We’re excited to build on this strong start and look forward to increasing our lead in the upcoming matches!

After four matches, South Shore Country Club emerged victorious with a total of 116.5 points. Presidents was a close second with 115.5 points. Fairway Ladies placed third with a total of 104 points and Brookline Golf Course took fourth place with 96 points.

“Anything Goes” Charity Tournament

What a day to remember! The Fairway Ladies hosted a joyful and impactful "Anything Goes" Charity Tournament on a picture-perfect Saturday. The event was a tremendous success, thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers, generous donors, and enthusiastic participants. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we surpassed our goal and raised $5,765 for our supported charities: Finex House, Hearth Inc and Boston’s First Tee.

Congratulations to Krista Fulton and Linda DeRenzo for earning the most Stableford points and taking home the top spot of the day with an impressive score of 44 points!

From the first tee shot to the final raffle, our “Anything Goes” Tournament was nothing short of amazing. We surpassed our fundraising goals- all while laughing, golfing and celebrating community. Thank you for making it happen- we can’t wait to top it next year!

Sometimes great things happen for our members and we want you all to know.
The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center has been renamed the Thomas Michael Menino Center and Exhibition Center. Mayor Menino was the loving husband of our own Fairway Lady, Angela Menino. Congratulations to Angela and the Menino Family. What a fitting tribute!
Sean Fitzpatrick , the highly skilled son of our Fairway Lady, Mary Fitzpatrick, won the Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship last month. And he did so convincingly! Congratulations to Sean and all of his supporters, especially his Mom!
